On Tuesday, August 29, BMA hosted the US Ski and Snowboard High Performance Center partners for an educational workshop. The session focused on US Ski and Snowboard initiatives USTART, the SkillsQuest Fitness and finished the day discussing Functional Movement Skills.
The workshop brought together representatives from GMVS, SMS, KMS, Sugar Bowl Academy, Squaw Valley and BMA.
“The knowledge sharing was extensive and there was a tangible air of cooperation and combined effort to push ski racing forward in the US,” says Brad Wall ’97, Athletic Program Director at BMA.
US Ski and Snowboard CEO and past Burke Parent; Tiger Shaw was also present. Tiger spoke of the importance of sacrifice and persistence at lunch announcements. He also found time to see the upgrades to the training hill and new t-bar line. We look forward to an ongoing active role in these High Performance workshops.
“For me, the highlight of the day was the open collaboration and conversation between academy programs and the opportunity to share experiences. We reviewed the USTART and SkillsQuest Fitness Assessment and made changes to the protocols that will simplify the process for clubs to implement,” tells Darrell Gray, BMA High Performance Director.
