Graduation 2016 was another wonderful celebration at BMA! We kicked things off on Friday night with a murder/mystery CLUE themed Junior Dinner. Each table kept track of their clues and figured out that Mrs. White did it, she was arrested and carted off by law enforcement. In the midst of all of the excitement, Juniors remembered each senior with a short quote and presented them with their own Clue game. The evening closed after Seniors Matt Wilson and Olivia Gerrard shared their Tribute to Burke video (watch below) highlighting this spring at BMA. Leaving the tent, everyone was treated to a gorgeous Burke sunset.
Graduation took place on Saturday afternoon, the tent on the soccer field was filled with joy, laughter and of course, a few tears. Departing English teacher Brandon Mazur was the keynote speaker, and he challenged the graduates to go out and find people, places and causes worth their effort. You can view his speech here. The Burkie Ranger chorus treated us to the song “Home” by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zero’s and to a hilarious Burke inspired version of Billy Joel’s “The Longest Time”. Per BMA tradition, Seniors were “graduated” by BMA underclassmen, alumni and family members. Touching stories, memories and comedy ensued. The weekend wrapped up on Saturday night with a Barn Party at the Inn at Mountain View Farm hosted by Senior families. The BMA community was treated to a delicious barbecue followed by a wild night of dancing by all! We wish the class of 2016 all the best!
